TELECOMMUNICATION TECHNICIAN IV

Requirements: Working knowledge of either basic engineering, architecture or construction principles. Good verbal and written skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management, coordination and organizational skills. Working knowledge of computer hardware/software fundamentals with skills and knowledge in Microsoft office product lines, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Visio. A minimum of 4 years of experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and equipment is required.

Tasks: Inputting layouts, drawings and designs to specifications using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Review drawings and supporting documents to verify specific dimensions, tolerances and adherence to organization or industry standard practices. Strong financial acumen, proven ability to connect the linkages of the project results to the budget and identify business benefits.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN III

Responsibility: Supervise installation crews and maintain progress and cost reports, technical presentations and provide accurate as-built drawings, administration documentation, and test results for final delivery.

Minimum Experience: Six (6) years’ experience in organizing and supervising structured cable systems and Inside Plant (ISP) installations and site surveys. Must have supervisory and project management experience of installation crews. Technician III must have the ability to coordinate with Project Manager, Design Engineer and other subcontractor(s). Must have experience working from design plans and specifications, and possess the ability to meet scheduled deadlines for completion of project(s).

Minimum Education: High School Graduate

Minimum Training/Certification: BICSI-certified ITS Technician and a BICSI member in good standing

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN II

Responsibility: Under minimal supervision complete site surveys to obtain field data for equipment and material required for the project implementation of structured cable systems and Inside Plant (ISP).

Minimum Experience: Four (4) years’’ experience in executing installation from implementation drawings, administrative documentation and equipment data. Terminate copper and fiber optic
cable. Follow test plans, record and present test results. Make corrections where test results indicate nonconforming results. In the absence of the Technician III, provide temporary supervision of installation crew.

Minimum Education: High School Graduate.

Minimum Training/Certification: BICSI-certified ITS Technician or Industry equivalent

TELECOMMUNICATION TECHNICIAN I

Responsibility: Under direct supervision of the Technician III or Technician II, install Inside Plant (ISP) raceways, conduits and copper and fiber optic cables. Must be able to pull cable through ducts or properly lace in raceways

Minimum Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in telecommunications industry specifically in structured cabling systems.

Minimum Education: High School Graduate.

Minimum Training/Certification: Sustained performance and the ability to comply with the requirements through on the job training may be substituted for Industry certifications.
