Sponsors and owns the execution of solution delivery for Technologies products and/or services. Leads and directs the work activities of project staff across organizational boundaries. Manages the project efforts from inception through completion (or transition) including tracking and evaluation of project performance. This role ensures that projects are successful in meeting deadlines, project budget, and clients’ business goals. Projects involve integration of solution(s) into customers’ existing environment. Participates in or conducts project reviews and status meetings, ensures follow up on issues and risks, and communicates project status to stakeholders. The project manager will utilize project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance. May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
The PM will lead very large, complex deployment initiatives, including key strategic projects. Directs and coordinates the work activities of the technical and project team. Coordinates needs assessments and requirements gathering as required. Defines and develops program scope, objectives, detailed plans, budgets and metrics as required. Manages issues, risks, and project communications. Monitors project execution to ensure all obligations are met. Facilitates and ensures technical issue resolution as required. Responsible for adherence to program plan and budgets as required. Recommends corrective actions and implements changes. Identifies and mitigates risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans. Manages project change requests.
Procures internal and external resources. Allocates project staff with required competencies to meet project objectives. Acts as the primary interface to internal and external teams. May manage challenging vendor relationships. Is responsible for direct communication to relevant senior stakeholders. Leads moderately-complex communications and/or negotiations with internal or external clients.
May also own project proposal, statements of work and specifications, and estimations of costs and ensure alignment to strategic business objectives. Identifies and manages program enhancements and process improvements. Conducts project reviews through the life of the project.
- A BA/BS degree, from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 8 years project management experience
- Experience in Enterprise sector (wireless and mobile computing) integration and delivery of large projects
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Experience in communications and presentations with senior leadership
- PMP certification a plus
- Expert level experience using PC based documentation tools including MS Office and MS Project
